Der Norske Veritas issued the Statements of Compliance for the Hanjin Korea (IMO9408853) and Hanjin Spain (IMO9408877), confirming that the data submitted meets the requirements of the Index.
Hanjin Shipping will now be considered in the procurement process of the Clean Shipping Network members. All the carriers aspiring procurement from the Clean Shipping Network members are required to verify two vessels in their fleet according to the Clean Shipping Index.

The Clean Shipping Index is a benchmarking tool to evaluate the environmental performance of ships and carriers and is used during procurement of sea transport by a network of large cargo owners.
The Clean Shipping Index covers the major emissions from ships such as CO2, NOx, SOx and also emissions to the sea by waste, on board use of chemicals in antifouling, lubricants, refrigerants and cleaning agents.
By coordinating a demand for clean ships through the Clean Shipping Network, carriers are encouraged to change over to more environmentally adapted techniques and measures. As a carrier you may login, fill in data on vessels and see the results for your own fleet – but also in comparison to other carriers.

Carriers that report vessels in the database, receive an annual feedback report with general information about the environmental performance of their ships, benchmarking information in relation to other carriers, performance on specific shipping routes and suggestions for improvements – at no cost.
