Named GME, Gulf of Mexico Express (or AWT, All Water Gulf of Mexico, for Hanjin Shipping) ,this new service will be operated by a total of eight vessels of 4,000TEU class with Hanjin Shipping deploying two and COSCON, six.
The port rotation is as below:
Busan-Shanghai (Waigaoqiao Terminal)-Ningbo-Xiamen-Yantian-(Panama Canal)-Colon-Houston-(Panama Canal)-Busan
This new service will cover the Gulf of Mexico and the southern part of the U.S. (Houston area) including the Caribbean Sea region offering wide service coverage with feeder network. Meanwhile, it will also offer very attractive transit times; 24 days from Yantian to Houston, the fastest transit time in the market and only 27 days from East China to Houston.
The partner carriers believe that the introduction of this new direct service will fulfill customers’ needs in the trade.
